ND Awards 2019

It was the first time that I have submitted to the ND Awards and to my surprise all three submitted had received an Honorable Mention in the Special – Panoramic Category.

The three images submitted have all been some of my most recent work whilst shooting with the Fuji GX617 Camera. It’s been a steep learning curve for me moving up to this 6 x 17 format size. For such a big negative it has not just been about finding suitable compositions, but also exposing the negative, especially with the Fuji Velvia film.

I wouldn’t say that I have mastered this format, but I am beginning to feel more comfortable with “seeing” this 3:1 ratio, so I am thrilled to receive these awards and this recognition gives me confidence and validation in continuing with this wonderful format.
